CULTURE

ASHLEY FREEMAN
Chief People OfficerASHLEY FREEMAN
Chief People OfficerWhat are some small things that make your day better?
Being active gives me energy and confidence, so I love a good gym class or walk around the neighborhood. I’m also a cat mom, and I love that my furballs keep life interesting!
What is the best advice you’ve ever heard?
My grandparents always said, “you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.” Being kind to people goes a long way in a world where kindness is sometimes hard to find. You never know what people are battling; a smile or wave might make someone’s day.
If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing, what would it be and why?
Baby wipes. I love a good baby wipe, especially the ones that smell like shea butter or cucumber. They can be used for anything at home or on-the-go!
What three items would you bring on a deserted island and why?
I’d bring a fishing net, a sheet of heavy canvas, and a cast-iron kettle. The net is necessary for catching food; the canvas can be used for shelter and can be dried in the sun if it gets wet; the kettle can be used to collect water or cook food over a fire. Seems practical to me!
If you could bring back any fashion trend, what would it be?
Doubled-up, alternating neon socks with splatter paint, ruffled denim skirts. All you 80s babies know that the first day of 2nd grade was like a fashion show in our white Keds, with our ponytails on the side! I could also rock 1920s garb, and 1950s A-line dresses are a favorite too!

What’s something about you that people would be surprised to know?
I love football. I played intramural flag football throughout college. I am a huge Green Bay Packer fan. I have been to Lambeau Field once and hope to go again soon. Throughout the fall, you can almost always find me watching football on the weekends.
What is one thing you cannot live without?
My dog Charlie, he is a rescue and is a real-life Scrappy-Doo.

Going on a cross country road trip with my family to Yosemite National Park and Yellowstone National.
What risks are worth taking?
The risks that you know will pay off in the long run and can help those around you.

If you could go back in time to change one thing, what would it be and why?
